Questions to Ask When Buying a Diamond Engagement Ring

Buying an engagement ring should be exciting, not intimidating. These are the questions we walk every client through before a single sketch is drawn.
What is your budget?
Setting a comfortable number first lets us shape everything else — stone size, metal, and setting complexity — around it, with no salesperson pitch.
What style does she want?
Solitaire, halo, hidden halo, vintage-inspired, three stone. Photos of rings she has admired are the single most useful thing you can bring to a consultation.
What is her ring size?
If keeping the surprise, borrow a ring she already wears and we can size from it.
When do you plan to propose?
A fully custom piece moves through sketch, CAD, wax, casting and stone setting. Give us your date and we will build the timeline backwards from it.
What are the 4 C's of diamonds?
Cut, color, clarity and carat weight. Together they determine both the beauty and the market value of any diamond, lab grown or mined.
What is a diamond grading certificate?
An independent laboratory report documenting those 4 C's. It is your objective record of exactly what you purchased.
What are the benefits of creating a custom ring?
You control every specification without compromising quality or cost, and the finished piece carries details that only the two of you understand. And yes — we can create a matching custom wedding band at the same time.
